Parents Advocate

What is Parent Advocacy?

Forming working partnerships with families to provide support, information, and referrals specific to the needs of the individual family members. As Parent Advocate, Vanderheyden's Jill Sharp assists families with "whatever it takes" to face the challenges of nurturing a child or adolescent with special needs.

This assistance includes facilitation of Wit's End, a free Family Support Group that meets regularly to:

  • Share information
  • Get support & understanding
  • Exchange ideas
  • Talk about frustrations
  • Help ourselves and our children
  • Find services that can help
  • Learn from speakers
  • Make new freinds!
