HOSPITAL DIVERSION SERVICES

In response to area need, Vanderheyden has developed a CRISIS BED SERVICE (aka a 24 hour bed) designed to accommodate youth 10 - 17 and stabilize family crises, averting the need for a costly and restrictive psychiatric hospital admission.

Features of the CRISIS BED include:

  • 24 / 365 service
  • Trained and experienced staff
  • Intake coordination by MSW/CSW level staff
  • Case coordination / Discharge planning services
  • Average LOS 2 - 4 days
  • Low staffing ratios

Information on rates and admission / exclusionary criteria available upon request.

PLANNED & CRISIS RESPITE SERVICES are based on the premise that IN HOME, family-based services effectively prevent ongoing crises and psychiatric admissions or residential treatment placement

Trained crisis workers are dispatched into the homes for both emergent and planned family care. Our trained staff efficiently interrupts the crisis, provides the necessary respite, and builds on family strengths to minimize ongoing problems. Features include:

  • Customized services to meet family needs
  • Ability to provide services in other settings (such as Hospital ER)
  • Case coordination
  • Strength-based treatment
  • Flexible length of stay
  • Hourly or monthly rates as required
