Vanderheyden Hall's Diagnostic Unit offers clinical, educational, psychological, psychiatric, and medical services in a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment. It addresses the needs of families, courts, and communities for immediate assessment of 10 to 17 year olds in crisis, providing a comprehensive report featuring concrete treatment recommendations.
The Diagnostic Unit features:
- Low staffing ratio - typically 3:1 (can be 1:1 when required)
- Flexible length of stay, typically 30 days
- Ten bed living units - most often single rooms
- Teaching of life skills/problem solving during stay
- Clinical consultation
