In response to area need, Vanderheyden has developed a CRISIS BED SERVICE (a.k.a. a 24 hour bed) designed to accommodate youth of age 10 - 17. It provides clinical and health care consultation while removing the strain on youth and families in crisis, averting the need for a costly and restrictive psychiatric hospital admission.
Features of the CRISIS BED include:
- 24 / 365 service
- Trained and experienced staff
- Intake coordination by MSW/CSW level staff
- Case coordination / Discharge planning services
- Average Length of Stay: 2-4 days
- Low staffing ratios
Admission information available upon request:
